Dr Maree Davies is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland. She has led multiple research projects on how teenagers use talk to develop critical thinking, and has published widely in this area.
Her work focuses on how young people can use critical thinking in their everyday lives. She is particularly interested in how conversations with peers, parents, and teachers can build teenagers’ confidence to think deeply and question information. This is especially important in the context of social media, where young people are often exposed to complex and controversial issues.
