She insisted I should make a podcast about parenting teenagers because I was a parenting coach, and had a background in TV and radio. The only problem was that I knew nothing about podcasting, or the technicalities involved. 😬
I decided it was worth a try, but didn’t want it to be just me blathering on. I vaguely knew Susie, and loved her mindfulness messages, but it was only when I messaged her to ask if she wanted to be involved that I realised she was perfect. Her breadth of knowledge, compassion, and deep experience make her the perfect co-host.
The format has developed as we have:
I introduced our ‘nuggets’ because I always love to hear other people’s stories about moments when they’ve learned something. Perhaps we can get some of you listeners to tell us yours?
I cut it down to one topic per episode, because it makes it more searchable, and I found the podcasts were becoming too long.
I’ve tried to ensure it’s weekly, because we’re all creatures of habit, and it’s comforting to know when the next podcast is coming out.
I do find the research, editing, and marketing take a huge amount of my time, so I’ve been including some interviews and news episodes, which are less work but still provide real value.

Recently I decided to pay the money to get the branding sorted out by the incredibly skilled @fletcheredwards She’s a freelance mum, with an excellent pedigree, and available for work so don’t hesitate if interested.
Finally, the immense enthusiasm and support we have received from all of our listeners is what has really spurred us on. Most podcasts never last this long, but ours keeps growing. Your excellent questions and ideas have been absolutely invaluable in keeping the episodes fresh and on-point.
Of course, I would obviously choose the one night of my life when I will ever get an award to be in the African bush with my family, but I guess that’s what this is all about☺️.
