It's been dubbed 'The Second Shift', where women do a job in the workplace but are still expected to carry both the mental and practical load of running a home and family.
Those jobs are never really done.
Dr Giselle Goodwin says that's one of the reasons why women's happiness has been in decline since the 70's.
Societal values have shifted so we're now expected to go out to work, but there's been too little acknowledgement or discourse around how the other work gets done.
Women are still expected by society to take responsibility, and blamed, for what goes on in the home and family.
