Dear Rachel,
I have just listened to your episode of Teenagers Untangled no 139 on starting secondary school, featuring your two daughters.
I had to stop unpacking my shopping when the episode finished to email you to tell you how wonderful it was!
Your two daughters were quite brilliant, and I loved their insights. They were interesting, articulate and gave me many aha moments, as well as insightful thoughts on the teenage years. I am in the thick of it; their answers on the first question on how teens can often take out their feelings on their Mums brought a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat as I was driving home. They summed up brilliantly how teens do this out of love and having this one safe space to let out their negative feelings is so important, and to take it as a compliment. I always knew this intellectually from my listening and reading but to hear it from your lovely thoughtful teenagers meant and helped so much. Thank you to you all.
You must be so proud of your daughters, like their mother, they are intelligent, thoughtful and lovely young women. Please tell how amazing their episode was and how much it helped so many grown women and mothers like me.
I love your work and listen to your podcast a lot, I have so many of the past episodes starred to listen to.
The work you do is so valuable and I love it.
It is exactly as you describe it, an audio hug. Like listening to a wonderful and informed friend, whose opinion is backed by research and thoughtful dissection of the evidence.
Thank you for all your wonderful work you do, you and your daughters are amazing people.
I look forward to their next episode, .... and yours of course !
With warm regards,
Juliette
